Reading a Book

Homework supports pupils to develop learning at home and make links with the classroom. Class teachers will send home a letter explaining activities at the beginning of each term.

There is nothing more important that you can do to support your child at home than listen to them read for twenty minutes every evening. Reading is integral to all subjects and supporting pupils to develop as confident, fluent readers is imperative to ensure that pupils make good progress as they move through the school. We have invested considerable amounts of money in our home reading schemes and this is promoted throughout the school.

We have produced three videos to explain our approaches to reading and to provide parents with tips on reading strategies at home.
